Privacy

This is a personal portfolio. There are no ads, no accounts, and no data sold to anyone. Here is what the site measures and how to change it.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit this site and which projects they look at. It records the pages you view, the website that sent you here, and general information such as your approximate location (country and city), device type, browser, operating system, screen size and language.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and the data is kept for up to 14 months. I only see totals, such as "120 page views from mobile devices", not who you are.

Cookies and browser storage

Only if analytics is on, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_…, which tell visits apart and last up to two years. Turning analytics off deletes them.

The site also saves your analytics choice (for 12 months) and its color theme in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device and are never sent anywhere.

Your choices

  • The site asks before using analytics, and nothing is collected unless you accept. Declining means Google Analytics is never loaded.
  • Your choice is saved in this browser for 12 months, and you can change it below at any time.
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics stays off.
  • You can also use Google's browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on every website.

Other services

Like any website, loading these pages sends your IP address to the services that deliver them: Netlify (hosting), Google Fonts (typefaces) and unpkg.com (a JavaScript library). LinkedIn is contacted only if you click a LinkedIn link. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
